To obtain this data, we present four hypothetical (imaginary) situations to respondents and ask them to tell us how they would react to the situation. The questions address the following situations:\n\n\u00b7\tWillingness to buy vegetables from a vendor with the AIDS virus: Would the respondent buy vegetables from someone in the market if she knew the seller had AIDS?\n\n\u00b7\tConcern about keeping the status of a family member infected with AIDS a secret or not: Would the respondent be willing to have other people in the community know if a member of her family had AIDS?\n\n\u00b7\tWillingness to care for a family member ill with AIDS in their own household: Would the respondent be willing to care for a relative who had AIDs in her household?
