The lack of a birth certificate may prevent a child from receiving health care, nutritional supplements and social assistance, and from being enrolled in school.\n\nWe begin by asking if the person was registered with the civil authorities. In Column (8), enter '1' if the person has not been registered;'2' if the person was registered but for whatever reason did not get a birth certificate (this however excludes loss of birth certificates); 3 if the person was registered within six months after he\/she was born and has a certificate; 4 if the person was registered later (beyond the first six months after birth) and has a certificate enter '8' if the respondent does not know.
