Notice that in Q.429 there are two sets of boxes for recording the birth weight; the first is KILOGRAMS FROM CARD, and the second is KILOGRAMS FROM RECALL.\n\nKILOGRAMS FROM CARD refers to a written record of the birth weight on a document, such as the vaccination card, the antenatal card, or the birth certificate. KILOGRAMS FROM RECALL refers to the mother's verbal report of her child's birth weight, which she is reporting from memory. When recording the birth weight, first select the appropriate category 'KILOGRAMS FROM CARD' and 'KILOGRAMS FROM RECALL', and then fill in the birth weight. Always record the birth weight from the card when possible. When recording information from the card, check the date on the card or ask the mother to be sure that the weight recorded on the card was the child's weight at birth.\n\nYou will fill in the boxes for KILOGRAMS FROM RECALL only if there is no card or no birth weight was recorded on the card. If there is no weight available from a card and the respondent says she cannot remember the exact birth weight, ask her to give you her best estimate. Only record DON'T KNOW if she absolutely cannot remember even an approximate weight.","var_val_range":[{"units":"REAL","min":"0","max":"9999995"}],"var_universe":"All pregnancies (among women aged 12-49 years) in the five years preceding the survey for which the baby was weighed at birth according to wom_q428","universe_clusion":"I","var_sumstat":[{"value":"2247","type":"vald"},{"value":"0","type":"invd"}],"var_txt":"Weight of baby (kg)","var_catgry":[{"value":"0","labl":null,"stats":"41","type":"freq"},{"value":"0.5","labl":null,"stats":"1","type":"freq"},{"value":"1","labl":null,"stats":"1","type":"freq"},{"value":"1.5","labl":null,"stats":"1","type":"freq"},{"value":"1.6","labl":null,"stats":"1","type":"freq"},{"value":"1.7","labl":null,"stats":"2","type":"freq"},{"value":"1.8","labl":null,"stats":"2","type":"freq"},{"value":"1.9","labl":null,"stats":"5","type":"freq"},{"value":"2","labl":null,"stats":"26","type":"freq"},{"value":"2.1","labl":null,"stats":"7","type":"freq"},{"value":"2.2","labl":null,"stats":"6","type":"freq"},{"value":"2.3","labl":null,"stats":"13","type":"freq"},{"value":"2.4","labl":null,"stats":"10","type":"freq"},{"value":"2.45","labl":null,"stats":"1","type":"freq"},{"value":"2.5","labl":null,"stats":"70","type":"freq"},{"value":"2.6","labl":null,"stats":"31","type":"freq"},{"value":"2.7","labl":null,"stats":"50","type":"freq"},{"value":"2.75","labl":null,"stats":"1","type":"freq"},{"value":"2.8","labl":null,"stats":"77","type":"freq"},{"value":"2.84","labl":null,"stats":"1","type":"freq"},{"value":"2.85","labl":null,"stats":"1","type":"freq"},{"value":"2.9","labl":null,"stats":"69","type":"freq"},{"value":"3","labl":null,"stats":"262","type":"freq"},{"value":"3.05","labl":null,"stats":"1","type":"freq"},{"value":"3.1","labl":null,"stats":"67","type":"freq"},{"value":"3.14","labl":null,"stats":"1","type":"freq"},{"value":"3.15","labl":null,"stats":"1","type":"freq"},{"value":"3.2","labl":null,"stats":"128","type":"freq"},{"value":"3.25","labl":null,"stats":"2","type":"freq"},{"value":"3.3","labl":null,"stats":"56","type":"freq"},{"value":"3.35","labl":null,"stats":"1","type":"freq"},{"value":"3.4","labl":null,"stats":"100","type":"freq"},{"value":"3.43","labl":null,"stats":"1","type":"freq"},{"value":"3.5","labl":null,"stats":"290","type":"freq"},{"value":"3.55","labl":null,"stats":"1","type":"freq"},{"value":"3.58","labl":null,"stats":"1","type":"freq"},{"value":"3.6","labl":null,"stats":"73","type":"freq"},{"value":"3.65","labl":null,"stats":"1","type":"freq"},{"value":"3.7","labl":null,"stats":"48","type":"freq"},{"value":"3.8","labl":null,"stats":"100","type":"freq"},{"value":"3.82","labl":null,"stats":"1","type":"freq"},{"value":"3.9","labl":null,"stats":"48","type":"freq"},{"value":"3.95","labl":null,"stats":"2","type":"freq"},{"value":"4","labl":null,"stats":"81","type":"freq"},{"value":"4.06","labl":null,"stats":"1","type":"freq"},{"value":"4.1","labl":null,"stats":"9","type":"freq"},{"value":"4.2","labl":null,"stats":"22","type":"freq"},{"value":"4.3","labl":null,"stats":"22","type":"freq"},{"value":"4.4","labl":null,"stats":"3","type":"freq"},{"value":"4.5","labl":null,"stats":"32","type":"freq"},{"value":"4.6","labl":null,"stats":"6","type":"freq"},{"value":"4.7","labl":null,"stats":"2","type":"freq"},{"value":"4.8","labl":null,"stats":"8","type":"freq"},{"value":"4.9","labl":null,"stats":"4","type":"freq"},{"value":"5","labl":null,"stats":"79","type":"freq"},{"value":"98","labl":"don't know","stats":"82","type":"freq"},{"value":"99","labl":"not applicable","stats":"294","type":"freq"},{"value":"9999995","labl":"missing:impute","stats":"0","type":"freq"}],"var_format":"numeric","var_format_schema":"other","fid":"F36","sid":"74","survey_idno":"APHRC-NCSS2-2014-v1.0"}
