Interviewer instructions
Questions on ownership of certain items are used to determine a rough measure of the socioeconomic status of the household. Each of the items listed should be read out to the respondent and the appropriate answer is circled. If the respondent reports that a household item such as a radio is broken, the next step is to determine how long it has been broken, and if it will be fixed. If the item appears to be out of use only temporarily, the code '1' for YES is circled. Otherwise, code '2' for NO is circled. It is important to circle either a '1' or a '2' for each item and no item or row should be left blank
