Interviewer instructions
Ask the respondent to specify the most important reason why the out-migrant moved from the place/household where he/she was living. Whatever the reason write it down on the dotted line before putting the corresponding code in the box.

Note that, here, you are inquiring about why the migrant moved out of the current household, not why he/she moved to the destination household. The reason for moving into the destination household is investigated on the In-Migration Form. This nuance is important; a migrant may leave the origin household because he/she had marital problems, but then move into the destination household “To join family”.

Description

Text
The reason for outmigrating.
Universe
All households that had an out-migrant.
