Interviewer instructions
This is an observation not a question since you will usually be able to see for yourself what kind of floor the house has. However, ask if you are not sure or cannot make an observation e.g. if the entire floor is covered with a carpet or you are interviewing the respondent outside the house. If there is more than one kind of flooring material, record the main type of material (the material that covers the largest amount of floor space).
