Interviewer instructions
These questions aim to collect information on household's access to credit from any source including both formal lending institutions such as banks and informal institutions such as merry- go-rounds (rotating savings schemes). We start by asking general questions on members' access to credit in 127; if the response is yes, we ask whether any member has received credit from any source in the last 12 months; if the response is yes, we ask where the credit was obtained from; the amount the household received as credit in the past 12 months and the reasons why the credit was obtained. Q133 is a hypothetical question that seeks to find out the household's ability to raise money e.g. in an emergency and in 134 we would like to find out what sources people turn to for such emergencies.
