Interviewer instructions
These questions ask about the household's cash or in-kind transfers into the household as well as remittances to other households/institutions and social assistance received from social schemes such as National Social Security Fund (NSSF). Remittances are out-bound cash or in-kind tokens given to members of other households or extended family members not living in the same household with the respondent. We start the section by asking about transfers into the household (Q137-137g). Where a household reports in Q137 that they have received money or goods from someone not a member of the household or institutions, then we proceed with Q137a-g and record who the individuals or institutions that send money or goods to the household are; the relationship between the sender and the head of household; where the sender lives (or in cases of institutions, where their offices are located); amount received from the sender; reason why the money was sent. We further ask whether the household received any goods in the past 12 months from the listed senders and if the response is yes, we ask for the cash equivalence of the received goods.
Lastly, Q139a-139e ask about social assistance received by members of the household. Ask about each scheme until before moving to the next scheme. Once done with all schemes, proceed to Q140 and record the time then complete the section on interviewer observation. Remember to return to the cover page to record details of the final visit and result of interview.
