ACCESS TO EDUCATION IN URBAN INFORMAL SETTLEMENTS IN UGANDA: A CASE OF KAMPALA AND MUKONO., Urban Education Research-Uganda

This data file contains details of the household head of the house hold selected for the study. This details include Gender, date of birth, marital status, whether his parents are alive or not, whether he lives in the household, their level of education and whether they live with their parents in the same house. there is also the child age as of 2020 and whether they were attending school by 2020. This file also contains household IDs and child IDs that are generated and not from the questionaire for anonymity purposes

This data file contains data from the household being interviewed from the study. This data consists of whether the respondent is the house hold head or not, district location and date of birth of respondent , their gender, marital status and date of birth and then majorly the welfare of the household which includes; the access of things like a car, a televeison and other ammenities within the household, the household access to food, water, toilet types, whether the food available was enough, whether they own the house or the land , whether they have received any donations, and whether the members have experienced any named disasters. this file also contains computed wealth scores, anonymised household ID and child ID, household size and education level of household head

this dataset contains information from the parent/guardian regarding their child and schooling status and their involvement in the same. We have variables like relationship of repondent to child, whether child is in school, the type of school, why they choose that school, their view on qualioty of eductaion child gets, level of education they want child to acjhieve, how the child behaves after school and who they associate with, if child gets homewrok and how they do it, if child gets to learn while at home, school fees issues for the child, effects of covid 19 on childs education, views of parents on teacher perfomance and quality of schooling infrastructure. we also have age of teh child, their gender and grades in different levels of their schooling.

This datafile consists of data variables from various schools in the areas selected for the study. The information was got from respective school heads of this schools. This majroly were questions on, type os school, some personal details of the scjhool head like age, how long they have worked in the instituition and their highest level of education. The data file also has data on number of students bothe male and female, number of classrooms, type of curriculum, languages talked in school, types of funding, how students dress in school, ammenities available in the school like toilets and other variables explaining the nature of the school in detail.

This data file contains data from a rapid survey taken from the same households that had earlier participated in the study. The main aim of this catch up survey was to understand the current schooling status of children who were in school before school closures due to COVID-19 and school re-opening in January 2022.The data file has variables like personal details of household head or member respondent but majorly focused on household child aged 3-18 years. we have higehst education, type of school they attend, whether child changed school after covid, whether they transitioned to the next grade or not and whether schooling costs increased or remained the same.

This data file contains data from the household parent or guardian and their child or the child in the household and focuses solely on schooling data of the child . The data file consists of whether the respondent is the house hold head or not, district location and date of birth of respondent , their gende rand marital status.
Majorly, the dataset also focuses on the child in the household and their schooling. that is, Their level of education, whether they have any disability, their education status during covid, type of school they attended, their access to learning materials, learning services the child could access and how much the household spent on the same. the datafile also has age of child as at interview and at covid 19 period 2020 and also the household size.
